If you are in the market for construction equipment rental, you will be happy to find we own a wide range of equipment from aerial lifts to telehandlers. Man lifts come in a variety of forms, with each form having a purpose. Man lifts, also known as aerial lifts or boom lifts are pieces of construction equipment that allow people to work at greater heights. Man lifts allow construction workers to safely reach heights that would either be too dangerous or inaccessible to workers by ladder or other means.

Types of man lifts generally fall under two categories. The first category is slab, which consists of man lifts that are made to work indoors and are powered by electricity or propane. These man lifts usually have extremely thick, solid tires designed solely to work on smooth, hard surfaces. These tires are typically non-marking tires, as marking tires will ruin the hard floors on which these indoor machines travel.

All other man lifts fall into the rough terrain category. These machines are all powered by fuel—usually either gas or diesel—and are designed to work on outdoor terrain. They easily lift and operate on rough terrain. Rough terrain man lifts usually use pneumatic tires, as this type of tire is safer on uneven surfaces. These pneumatic tires can be foam filled to avoid flats.

A boom lift is made of a mechanical arm and a bucket on the end of this mechanical arm. In some cases, there can be multiple mechanical arms connected by “knuckles” which allow the arms to collapse on themselves. These boom lifts can reach a variety of heights, ranging from 20 feet to greater than 100 feet. There are three different boom lift designs.

Straight boom lifts have a single arm that acts as a telescoping beam. It moves in one direction and pivots at its base to maneuver. Depending on your needs, you can get straight boom lifts that can go up to a maximum height of 185 feet. Straight boom lifts are the most useful when construction job sites have a very high spot that is hard to reach.

Articulating boom lifts have a jointed arm. This jointed arm articulates, hence the name, which allows the boom lift to maneuver around obstacles in its path. Job sites near power lines, power plants, and trees often utilize this type of boom lift.

Trailer mounted boom lifts are generally smaller than other designs. They are either battery operated or on gas. The lifts can be towed behind a truck, which makes them very convenient. They typically have a maximum height reach of 70 feet.

A scissor lift is another type of man lift. This type of man lift has a greater carrying capacity however it functions only in an up and down motion. These machines usually carry anywhere from 500 pounds to 1500 pounds. Scissor lifts are ideal when moving a large amount of materials, heavy equipment, or many people from one area to another. A scissor lift usually has a maximum reach of around 45 feet.

While this is not all of the equipment we offer for rental, here is a taste of the aerial lifts you can rent from us today. Prices vary from one man lift to another. All designs usually come with a variety of versions, so you will be able to find the features you need.
